Sydney, AUSTRALIA –January 20, 2011.
Consumers can stream content to their TV, browse the web and listen to music in high quality thanks to Toshiba’s launch today of the NB550D and NB500 netbooks.

Designed to be the ultimate lightweight device, the new superior multi-media netbook experience allows users to also create quality content for social media networks as well as watch movies.

“The NB550D and NB500 netbooks fuse capable computing with advanced multimedia functionality,” said Justin White, Product Marketing Manager, Toshiba Information Systems Division (ISD).

“The launch of the new netbook series marks another stage of evolution in the netbook market from Toshiba. Our goal was to introduce several new features such as HDMI and premium Harman/Kardon® speakers in a lightweight portable media device,” he said.

The new range comes in five playful colours including: orange, blue, copper brown, lime green and black (only in the NB500). Each netbook weighs just over a kilo with the NB550D series powered by Intel’s Atom CPU and the NB500 by AMD’s Fusion processor.
